We offer four different insulation packages for you to choose from, all provide year-round use of the garden room and our ‘Gold’ insulation package will keep the garden room comfortable down to an estimated minus 10!

 

Superior build quality;

We don’t sub-contract our garden rooms builds to carpentry gangs on a price, this is an issue that affects the newbuild housing sector and can invariably lead to a poor quality product. All our garden rooms are built by Snug owner and master carpenter- Mark Brown. Mark has over 30 years of carpentry experience and an absolute penchant for perfection in his craft.

 

Plastered interor walls;

We plaster all our internal walls. We believe plastered walls to be far better than MDF wall finishes, plasterboards are great for soundproofing, are fireproof for a minimum of 30 minutes, don’t require unsightly cover strips on joints and plastered walls don’t shrink like MDF wall finishes can.

 

MVHR;

We install Mechanical Ventilation and Heat Recovery units in all our garden rooms, these draw fresh filtered air into the garden room and expel stale humid air, the heat in the outgoing air is used to pre-heat the incoming air which saves money on heating and is very eco-friendly. MVHR units also ensure that correct humidity levels are maintained in the garden room which prevents condensation and associated mold.

 

Vapour barriers/ secondary insulation layer.

We install vapour barriers/ secondary insulation layers in all our garden rooms, these go under the floor, wall, and ceiling boards and form a continuous, sealed envelope around the room that prevents draughts and associated heat loss. This foil layer also acts as a secondary uninterrupted insulation layer that helps prevent cold spots on the interior walls, thirdly this vapour barrier stops warm/ moist air from entering into the wall structure where it could potentially condense and cause rot.

 

Ventilated cladding;

All our cladding options have a ventilated cavity behind them to allow any water that gets through the cladding (which is very unlikely) to drain away without ever coming into contact with the secondary waterproof membrane, this forms three lines of defense against water ingress (cladding/ void/ waterproof membrane), air then circulates through the cavity further helping keep everything nice, dry and rot free.
